Intelligence test in children

The intelligence tests vary according to age to determine the comprehension and creativity of the person studied. These are particularly important in determining the level of intelligence of young children because it allows the determination of the intensity and difficulty of education.

It is indicated by the abbreviation IQ (Intelligence Quotient) which is the numerical expression of intelligence level and is obtained by dividing the intelligence age (ZY) by the calendar year (TY) and multiplying by 100.

The age of intelligence is calculated as follows: Each correctly solved question is recorded as “+”, and any question that is not solved or solved wrongly is “-“. The age at which the child is fully successful is taken as the primary age. Thereafter, for each question it solves, the basic age is added to:

2 months for 3-10 questions

12 years is asked for 3 months

14 years is asked for 4 months

16 years is asked for 5 months

For example, if the child has succeeded in the 3-year-old intelligence test, and has solved two of the questions between 3 and 10 years of age, then the intelligence age is 3 years and 4 months.

After calculating the age of intelligence, the intelligence part (IQ) is obtained using the formula given above.

Comparing the obtained result with the values of Terman enables to determine the intelligence level of the child.

According to this:

Over 140 IQ – outstanding;

120-140 IQ – very good;

IQ between 110-120 – good;

IQ between 90 and 110 – normal (mean);

70-90 IQ – light back;

IQ below 70 – is described as an intelligence.

Graded tests can measure the intelligence level of a person at various ages.
